Finally, the new term is up! Everything went very smoothly in transaction, no problems at all. Now, we have several things that are changed, you can refer to the PM sent out yesterday, or check the thread out in the announcements to see what went down in the few hours the site was inaccessible. Classes have started, students must attend them!

So yeah, this is the New Term we've all been hyped about. I don't speak for everyone, but I definitely think I was the most pumped for this. Loads of changes have been made, the complete list should be in the Announcements board, if my lazy butt got to it in time. Yes, by the way, I'm posting in future tense. As I post this now, everything's still being worked on, but you know what? We'll deal.

Caleb sighed as he rubbed his eyes again. "I am so sorry if I fall asleep on you." His eyelids drooped slightly, emphasizing his sentence. Get a freakin' grip, Caleb. Stay awake for a little longer. Truth was, Caleb hadn't slept for a week. He had gotten letters from his muggle father, saying that Caleb's mother--who had left him and his father since the day Caleb was born--was sending letters, asking how Caleb and his father was. His father was an emotional wreck; Caleb felt worse than he ever had. His mother hadn't been in Caleb's life for 16 years. What was her motive to speak to him now? Unanswered questions would keep Caleb awake in bed, and when he looked out his window, the sun would be peaking over the mountains.
He broke out of his reverie as Felicity spoke, "Nothing much. Usual things that everyone has...family issues, guy issues, homework, school..."
"Aah," was all Caleb said. His previous thoughts dampened his mood; he frowned slightly. Caleb shook off his thoughts and he tried to smile, although it felt mangled on his face. He turned to face Felicity, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, I know that we just met, and since it takes a little while for me to trust someone--I'm pretty sure that goes for you too--" Caleb winked jokingly, "I just want you to know, I'll be here if you need anything." He spoke in a quiet voice, his tone not so cheerful as it was a few minutes ago. Caleb tilted his head slightly and stared at Felicity with solemn eyes.

Felicity smiled lightly, and shrugged. "It's alright. If you want to go up to the Ravenclaw tower, you can." she said, looking him up and down. "You look tired." she commented as an explanation. She didn't want him to feel like he had to stay with her; she had been fine standing in the hallway by herself before he came anyways. And she probably going down to the Kitchens anyways. Exausted as she was, she had no intention of falling asleep, knowing the dream that would wake her. So she would just get a cup of coffee or two. She had a low tolerance for cafene, which meant that she would be completely spazed out and beyond energized after she drank the two cups of coffee. She had been doing that for the past week or so. She could barely remember the last time she ahd slept, the week dragged on so long.
Fee tilted her head to the side slightly, a little surprised by his mood change. She bit her lip, wanting to ask him if anything was wrong. But then again, they had just met. She didn't want him telling her something he was uncomfortable with. She didn't want to push him. So, she just chewed on her lip, her gray eyes locked on the boy. He looked almost as bad as she did.
Trying not to feel to awkward after his statement, Felicity nodded. He was just trying to be nice. Probably noticed how much of a mess she was; she was getting worse and worse at hiding it. Sometimes, it felt as if her insides were burning... what was left of them anyways. And no amount of make-up could completely cover the hideously dark circles that fell under her eyes. She hated when people thought of her that way. She wanted to be strong, she had to be. "You look like you've missed a lot of sleep." Fee commented finally, trying not to push the topic too much, but still curious as to why that might be. "What's on your mind?" she questioned him catiously.

"It's alright. If you want to go up to the Ravenclaw tower, you can. You look tired."
Caleb rolled his head around to look at her. "Nah, I'm fine. Really." A small grin formed on his lips. "I'd rather be here." He shrugged, knowing he wouldn't get much sleep anyways. Caleb linked his hands and put them behind his head, looking up at the high ceiling. He sighed quietly and glanced at Felicity, who was staring intently at him. He gave her a lopsided grin and quickly turned his head to look at the opposite wall of him, knowing his smile probably looked fake on his face.
"You look like you've missed a lot of sleep. What's on your mind?"
Caleb, a little caught off guard by Felicity's question, rubbed the back of his neck, his eyes locked on his shoes. He opened his lips slightly, his mouth searching for words to say. Did he really look that bad? He sighed finally, defeated. Honesty is the best policy, his father always told him. Caleb slowly moved his gaze from his shoes and into Felicity's eyes. "My mother hasn't been in my life for sixteen years, and all of a sudden she wants to come back, asking for forgiveness." He paused, taking a deep breath. "My dad's a huge wreck. I don't even know what to think. She dumped me and my dad the day I was born; how can she just think we'd welcome her with open arms..." Caleb trailed off, his fist clenched. He shook his head, calming down a bit and he exhaled through his nose. Caleb looked away, shocked he just confided in someone he barely knew. He glanced at Felicity in the corner of his eye, feeling a bit anxious.

Felicity bit her lip lightly. "Oh." she said. "Well, alright then." she added, with a small shrug. Rather be here? I wouldn't. she thought. Of course, at the same time she wasn't too much looking forward to the dreams that would surely greet her. She wondered if she should just become an insomniac. Never sleep. She wondered how shitty she would look after weeks upon weeks of no sleep. Probably like a zombie. Messy hair, dark circles, barely able to move. Of course, what would be the difference? That's how she was now. Only her blonde locks were well-kept.
As soon as the question slipped out of her mouth, Fee blushed. He probably wouldn't want to share anything with her, a complete stranger. For all he knew, whatever he was keeping she would tell the whole freaking school. She started to mumble as he rubbed the back of his neck and looked at his shoes. "Oh... um, sorry.. if that was a bit... personal. You don't have to say anything...." she mumbled, looking at the wall opposite of her, and feeling a little color creep into her ivory colored cheeks. She wasn't expecting him to answer, but he did. She looked at him, and their eyes locked for a moment.
Fee tilted her head to the side slightly as he started to speak. She bit her lip after he was done. "I'm sorry." she said in what she hoped to come out as a gentle voice. It was hard displaying any emotion of the late, but she really did feel sorry for the boy. She tried to think of something else to say, but was at a loss for words. Both of her parents had been in her whole life, and she had many siblings. She couldn't empathize. Not at all. "Why..." she swallowed, not wanting to pry too much. "I mean, did you know... why she, um,... left?" she managed to get out quietly.

"Oh... um, sorry.. if that was a bit... personal. You don't have to say anything...."
Caleb shook his head, giving her a weak smile. “No, it’s alright.”
"Why...I mean, did you know...why she, um,...left?"
Caleb breathed in and out steadily, remembering what his father told him. His lips were moving without permission and he could hear himself replying to Felicity. “She left because she wanted to be a part of the Ministry. The last thing she needed was a son to get in the way of what she really wanted.” Caleb snorted, disgusted. He shook his head, trying to erase all thoughts of his mother. “She’s got the job. Now she wants to come back; and of course whatever she wants, she’d push through anything to get it.” Okay, maybe the last bit wasn’t true. Caleb was angry at her; who’d blame him?
He relaxed a bit and his shoulders slumped. “I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to put you in this awkward position. Everything was just building up and I just--I snapped. I’m sorry.”

Felicity smiled softly when he said it was alright. She really didn’t want to offend him or get him upset; she didn’t have many friends left and was starting to like the boy, kind of.
At his reaction to what she said next, she bit her lip. Fee wanted to comfort him somehow, but she didn’t know what to do. She was never good at comforting people, sympathy wasn’t something she had acquired until quite recently. She shook her head as he started speaking again, apologizing.
“You don’t have to be sorry.” Felicity said. “It’s better that you got it off your chest anyways.” she added, shrugging lightly. She took a deep breath. “I know what it’s like to be under a lot of stress. It’s easier to talk to some one about it.” Easier, yes. And she supposed it would make you feel better. Not like she had really talked to anyone about herself, but then again, her situation was a lot different than his was.
