Updates
June 3,2009
Yay for lack of updates, huh? Anyway, staff has been super busy lately. There's an activity check in the announcement boards, and the site is undergoing severe reconstruction. However, it's doubtful that anyone will really notice, the reconstruction's going to be slightly noticeable. Quidditch is restarting soon, all of the stats are updated. Awards and Triwizard Tournament are also in the works.
April 1, 2009.
Sorry I haven't posted much here, I'm totally not used to this box. Anywho, the first Quidditch match is well on its way, and is near completion. Slytherin is ahead. The Spring Fling Ball will begin May 1st, at 9pm(EST). The TriWizard Tournament is in the process of creation, and is estimated to begin sometime towards the end of April.
Feburary 26, 2009.
Hey guys. We're just finishing up the Quidditch information, the first match should be within the week :)

The Sorting hat, wise past its years, and well trusted to Sort the children of Hogwarts into their proper, and best fit Houses. Come hither, and see your fated home for the next Seven years!
Come here only after you've read the rules. Click on "new thread" inside, and you'll be taken to a new form, coding amazingly edited by me, but created by california over on SoCal. I wuves him for it.

[ ]Group Commons
In an effort to reinstate and re-enforce school unity, this room was created. Though just another room like all others, it is decorated much like a living room of a house. There are armchairs, couches, and stools before a grand fireplace. Tables and chairs stand around the room, a bookshelf running the lengths of one of the walls. This room is open to anyone who resides in the school, especially students from differing houses, and teachers.

[ ]Potions
Located in the dungeons close to the Slytherin Common Room, the Potions class is thought of to be similar to a dungeon itself. In the winter months, students have to dress extremely warm, and their breath rises as a smoke up to the unseen ceiling. It is a very large classroom, enough to fit 20 cauldrons with one person at each of them. With it being underground, there are no windows to light their workspace, so students must rely on floating lanterns, notorious for the lower levels of the school.

Lucky Hufflepuffs. Their Common Room is only a few steps away from the kitchens. The facility is hidden beyond a painting of a giant bowl of fruit. The only way to get through it is to tickle the big green pear. It will laugh, and then turn into a handle, by which, you can enter the kitchens beyond. As soon as you step inside, House Elves will swarm you. Not to scold you for your intrusion, but to ask what you would like, and offer you comfort while you eat. Anything you ask for, anything your mind could make up, they will get it for you.

[ ]Ball Room
On the rare occasion that Hogwarts has a ball, there is a special room set aside for them. Used to be, all the balls were held in the Great Hall, since they were so sparing. However, since the new Headmistress has a knack for random celebratory feasts, one of the old dungeons was turned into the perfect room for a large dance. In the off season, without any activity of it, it stands as another cold, empty dungeon room.

[ ]Entrance Hall
Large rectangular room with oak doors leading from the outside. For most, this is the first room ever that they will see when arriving at Hogwarts. Directly across from the doors is a wide marble staircase, leading up to the first floor. Double doors to the right lead to the Great Hall. To the left of the staircase, a door leads down to the dungeons. To the right of it, another door, leading to rooms of Hufflepuff Common Room, the kitchens and the like. In niches on the walls, the House Point hourglasses stand, containing jewels representing the House Points that the House has. In the center of the flagstone floor, the Hogwarts crest lays, in the center of the room.

[ ]Broom Closet
Quite self explanatory, this closet serves the purpose of holding things like brooms, and cleaning ware for Filch. It is rumored to have a spell on it, to where it locks at a certain time of night. Apparently, Filch got so tired of students sneaking off to do Merlin-knows-what in the broom closet, that he got someone to make it lock sometime at night. Anyone in there when he unlocked it in the morning would be forced to the Headmistress's office.

Four long tables stretch from the door, almost to the platform of which the staff table sits. One table for each of the Houses. The ceiling above is enchanted to mirror the sky outside, matching the weather perfectly. Here, the students eat their meals and receive daily owl posts. A door behind the staff table leads to a smaller chamber filled with paintings and statues.

The very first floor you find as you come up the staircase from the Entrance Hall. Immediately to your right, an empty room stands, once being the McGonagal's office. Next to that, to its right, is the Transfiguration classroom. An empty classroom stands near it, being used very seldom.

This floor connects all things on the second level of Hogwarts. Benches are scattered about, so that people waiting for class, or just wanting to sit somewhere, are welcome to do so. The library is the first thing one will see, as it is the first door in sight as you come up the steps. The Charms class, also on that side of the hallway, is further down. Let's not forget our dear friend, Myrtle, whose bathroom is the only adornment of the opposite side of the hallway.

[ ]Library
Appropriately named, this is indeed a grand library, filled with resources that a student can use at will. Rows and rows of books fill the room. Tables, chairs, and couches scattered about.

Beware of the Restriction Section, however. This is filled with books involving Dark Magic, and could lead the right student into the wrong path. Anyone without permission to be here is deemed to be punished with the full extend of Hogwarts law.

[ ]Charms
Charms is a required subject for all students in their first five years at Hogwarts. The spells learned in Charms class are taken from textbooks. Students are taught specific wand movements and proper pronunciation. Often students partner up in class to experiment on one another. It, like Transfiguration, is composed of precise wand movements, and saying incantations correctly. A wrong pronunciation might land the offender with more problems than what it's worth.

Third Floor
[ ]Third Floor Corridor
Quite possibly the most changed floor of Hogwarts, the third floor. As you enter it, you can almost feel the Darkness in the air. This is quite possibly due to the fact that the hall is focused mainly on Dark Magic, and the defense against it. Defense Against the Dark Arts stands at one side of the corridor. Down a little ways from that class is the History of Hogwarts class, where they talk of the famous people that started their lives here in Hogwarts, as well as important events that happened in the school. The Trophy room still stands at the end of the hallway, and is fairly untouched, except for the addiction of some plaques and trophies.

[ ]Defense Against the Dark Arts
A class designed way back in the day to ensure that students knew how to defend themselves from the Dark Magic that's prone to showing up. When Voldemort grasped control of Hogwarts, this class underwent a mass remake, and became, simply, the Dark Arts, where students were taught the positives of Dark Magic, and the power ensuing when using them. Immediately after his fall, the class turned back into the Defense Against the Dark Arts.

This is the living quarters, and office, of Headmistress Malfoy. The entrance is exactly as it was when Dumbledore was present. The gargoyle is still there, standing solid until the password is given, then he springs to live and beckons the person in. Behind him, a revolving staircase lifts the person a few feet to the door ahead. If you barge in without knocking, there is a high risk that your funeral will be the next place anyone sees you. The Headmistress is a very uptight person, and if you go to her with nothing of importance, your punishment will exceed anything you could dream of. If you ever her office without permission, your punishment is worse than death.

Fifth Floor
[ ]Fifth Floor Corridor
This floor is perhaps the most absurd one of Hogwarts. With all the teaching of magical elements and such, you wouldn't think that any witch or wizard would need to know anything about Muggles. [ ]Muggle Studies
Quite possibly the most pointless class in this school, Muggle Studies is definitely seen by mostly everyone as unnecessary. It is not a required course, thankfully. It does seem to be a bit odd to be learning about Muggles in a school dedicated to the practice of Magic, however.

[ ]Abandoned & Adoptable Characters (2 sub-boards)
If you're tired of playing a character, have too many, or just want to get rid of a character, post a thread containing the username, as well as the password. A description of the plots that your character is currently in might be wanted too.

Also here is the 'Adopt a Character'. If you have the perfect idea for a character, whether it be one of your character's siblings, spouse, whatever, but for some reason, you don't want to play them yourself, write up a character profile for them, and post the profile here. Remember though, leave the RP sample blank!
